Therapeutic & Coaching approaches
Supplementary, non-clinical coaching tools used alongside core supports (not therapy)
Service Description
At Social Supports SA, we use a small range of structured wellbeing and coaching approaches as supplementary tools to support participant goals such as emotional regulation, confidence, routines, communication and community participation. These approaches are not clinical therapy, counselling, psychology or medical treatment. They are used only where relevant, participant-led, and aligned with NDIS goals, and can complement supports provided by a participant’s treating team. Examples of supplementary approaches may include: ACT-informed coaching tools (values, goals, acceptance and practical coping strategies) Communication and confidence coaching (supporting self-advocacy and social confidence) Mindset and motivation tools to support routine building and follow-through Relaxation and grounding strategies to reduce overwhelm and support regulation Any techniques used are discussed transparently, based on consent, and tailored to the participant’s preferences and support plan. Session length is flexible and can be tailored to goals and support needs.
