What to Expect When Working With Social Supports SA
At Social Supports SA, our support is calm, respectful, structured, and focused on helping you build confidence and independence in everyday life. We work alongside you at your pace, with clear communication and predictable routines, so you know what to expect and feel safe throughout the process.

What Sessions Look Like
Sessions are flexible and can include:
-
Planning goals and routines
-
Building life skills (organisation, budgeting, appointment planning, admin support)
-
Community access (shopping, outings, activities, exercise, libraries, social connections)
-
Transport support (as agreed)
-
Emotional support and mentoring (within scope, non-clinical)
-
Encouraging healthy relationships, communication, and boundaries
-
Support to follow through on services, paperwork, and everyday responsibilities
Each session is guided by your goals and what matters most to you.
Where appropriate supports are completed step-by-step so you
can learn the process and build long-term independence.
Our Service Style
Our support style is:
-
Person-centred: your goals and preferences guide the work
-
Strengths-based: we build on what you can already do
-
Capacity-building: the aim is progress over time, not dependence
-
Supportive and practical: real-world help, real-life outcomes
-
Trauma-informed and respectful: no judgement, no pressure
We focus on helping you feel more confident, capable, and connected in the
community, while keeping things structured, clear, and professional.

Boundaries and Safety
We provide warm, supportive care — but we also maintain clear professional boundaries to keep things safe and consistent.
This means:
-
We keep sessions goal-focused and respectful
-
We use clear agreements about times, locations, and expectations
-
We avoid last-minute changes where possible to maintain reliability
-
We will always support you respectfully, while also protecting safety for everyone involved
If behaviour becomes unsafe, escalating, or outside the scope of support, we will pause and put safety steps in place.
Communication
We communicate in a way that is:
-
Clear
-
Prompt
-
Respectful
-
Solution-focused
You can expect:
-
Confirmed session details (time/location) where needed
-
Updates if running late (rare, but transparent)
-
Simple check-ins to help you stay on track with goals
-
Support that is encouraging but professional
We aim to keep communication consistent and easy, without overwhelm.
